Boyd D. Bradford, Sr.
             Boyd David Bradford, Sr., the son of Gertrude Viola (Millspaugh) and Clarence Wilbur Bradford, was born on May 16, 1932 in Cherokee, Oklahoma. When Boyd was seven, the family moved to Watonga, Oklahoma and later to Raton, New Mexico, where he graduated from high school.
             Following school, Boyd enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed in Korea and Hanford, Washington. After the service, he moved to the Lewiston, Idaho area where he operated a saw mill with his dad and studied engineering at Whitworth College. He and his dad then started their own construction company.
             Boyd and Virginia Louise Fowler were married on October 18, 1958 at the Lewiston Orchard Southern Baptist Church at Lewiston. Their marriage was blessed with five children, Tamela, Lisa, Dianne, Jeanne, and Boyd David Jr.
             The family moved to Spokane, Washington where Boyd became a field engineer for Esvelt and Saxton Consulting Engineers. The family were members of the Pines Baptist Church. Boyd’s enjoyments included woodworking, construction, and working with kids.
             Boyd and Virginia moved to the Henderson, Iowa area in April of 2008 to be near family. Boyd passed away on February 5, 2010, at the Oakland Manor in Oakland, Iowa, at the age of 77 years, 8 months, and 19 days. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Candice Tribur.
             Boyd is survived by his wife of 51 years, Virginia Bradford of Henderson; children, Tamela Hall of Washington, DC, Lisa Hunter and husband David of Sharpsburg, GA, Dianne Giles and husband Brent, and Jeanne Bradford, all of Henderson, and Boyd Bradford, Jr. of Puyallup, WA; 14 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; sisters, Mary Lynn Gurney and husband Don of Georgetown, TX, Shirley Roberts and husband Dale of Crockett, TX, Helen Karnes and husband Walter of Berryville, AR, and Frances Mungen and husband T.W. of Lakewood, WA; brother-in-law Chris Tribur of Denver, CO; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
             A memorial fund has been established.
             Interment in the Henderson Farm Creek Cemetery.
