Services for Elmer Bergantzel
Elmer Bergantzel, 66 of Henderson died on July 7, 1984 at the University of Nebraska Hospital in Omaha, following a sudden illness.
He was born October 12, 1917 to Joe and Iota (Summers) Bergantzel in Henderson, Iowa.
Elmer was united in marriage on February 26, 1941 to Edith Frink.
He spent his lifetime as a farmer and lived and farmed most of his life in the Henderson community. He was a member of the Christian church in Henderson. He was also a member of the American Legion Denlinger Post No. 530 in Henderson and served his country in the army during World War II.
Elmer was preceded in death by his father and one son, Al.
Survivors include his wife, two sons, Robert of Council Bluffs and Roger of Henderson, four grandchildren, his mother, Iota McIntyre of Council Bluffs, and four brothers, Joe and Charles of Council Bluffs, Lyle of Wolback, Nebr., and Darwin of Tennessee. Also one sister, Julie Socha of Omaha, Nebraska.
Services were held on July 9 at the Christian Church in Henderson with Rev. Jerald Caughron conducting the 2:00 p.m. rites.
Interment was in the Farm Creek cemetery in Henderson.
